Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing with those apps. I’m new to all this, and honestly, it stresses me out knowing that every little tap on the brakes could count against me. Like, I get it—they want to reward safe driving, but not every “hard brake” is because you’re being reckless. Sometimes people just do unpredictable stuff on the road or an animal pops out of nowhere… what are you supposed to do, just hit it?

I’m trying to keep my costs down, so the discount sounded great at first. But now I’m second-guessing if it’s worth the hassle of worrying about every move I make behind the wheel. Maybe these apps work better for folks who drive mostly on empty highways or something, but city driving is a whole different game.

I totally get what you mean about the stress. I tried one of those apps for a few months, and it felt like I was being punished for just reacting to normal city chaos. Like, if a cyclist swerves in front of you, what are you supposed to do? Sometimes I wonder if these apps actually make people drive safer or just more anxious. Has anyone actually seen their rates go down after using one, or is it mostly just a headache?

I’ve been using one of those tracking apps for about a year now, and honestly, I’m not convinced it’s worth the hassle. My rates barely budged, even though I drive like a grandma most days. The app kept dinging me for “hard braking” when I was just avoiding potholes or unpredictable drivers. It makes me wonder if these things are really calibrated for city driving at all. Has anyone actually had a positive experience with these apps in a busy area, or is it just easier in the suburbs?

Honestly, I’ve had the same issue. The app seems to think every quick tap on the brakes is a crime against driving. In city traffic, it’s impossible to avoid “hard braking” with all the chaos. Suburbs might be easier, but for city folks, it’s just not realistic.

Yeah, I’ve been wondering if these insurance apps were actually made for people who drive anywhere but the middle of nowhere. How are you supposed to avoid “hard braking” when a delivery guy cuts you off every other block? Do these companies think city traffic is just a myth? I get wanting safer drivers, but come on… you ever tried to drive through rush hour without touching your brakes? Not happening.
