Couldn't agree more. Insurance adjusters aren't bad folks, but they're definitely pushed to wrap things up quickly. Had a similar issue a while back—what looked like just a ding ended up messing with my blind spot sensor. Good on you for trusting your gut and getting it checked out properly... saved yourself headaches down the line, I'm sure.
Had something similar happen to me last year. Adjuster said it was just cosmetic, but I had a buddy take a quick look and turns out the bumper brackets were bent underneath. Nothing too crazy, but still glad I double-checked.

Yeah, this exactly. They're just doing their jobs, but it's your car...never hurts to play it safe.
Had a similar thing happen with my Audi a couple years back. Adjuster insisted it was just paint damage, but when the shop took off the bumper cover, turned out there was some hidden damage underneath. Always worth getting a second set of eyes on it...
