"Reading insurance paperwork feels like trying to assemble IKEA furniture with instructions written in Klingon."

Haha, nailed it. Last year when I moved to South Dakota, I spent hours trying to decode my auto insurance policy. Thought I'd save money by figuring it out myself—big mistake. Ended up calling the insurer anyway, and even then, the rep sounded just as confused as me. Lesson learned: sometimes it's worth the headache to just ask upfront and skip the DIY frustration...

Insurance paperwork definitely isn't designed with readability in mind...but trust me, you're not alone in feeling overwhelmed. Even professionals sometimes pause to double-check the fine print. Better safe than sorry when it comes to coverage details, right?

Had a similar headache when insuring my '67 Mustang last year... ended up calling the agent twice just to clarify mileage limits. Makes you wonder why they can't just simplify this stuff?

Had a similar experience insuring my old Jeep Cherokee a couple years back. I remember calling the agent multiple times just to get straight answers on coverage limits and whether off-road use was even covered. Honestly, insurance rules seem intentionally complicated sometimes... but I've found that jotting down specific questions beforehand and asking for written clarifications via email helps cut through the confusion. At least then you've got something concrete to refer back to if things get fuzzy later on.

Totally agree about getting things in writing. When I insured our family SUV last year, the agent gave me totally different info over the phone compared to what was emailed later. Made me wonder if they even know their own policies sometimes... Also, I've found checking online forums specific to your state helps—other SD drivers might've already figured out the tricky bits. Worth a shot anyway.
