Been looking into car insurance lately and I'm kinda torn between just sticking with the bare minimum required in SC or shelling out a bit more for extra coverage. Curious what others here prefer and why...

Yeah, I totally get where you're coming from. Honestly, as someone who's had a couple of fender-benders (nothing major, thankfully...), I'd lean towards getting a bit more than the minimum. The basic coverage might seem fine until something happens—then you're stuck paying out-of-pocket for repairs or medical bills. Have you thought about uninsured motorist coverage too? Saved me big time last year when someone without insurance rear-ended me. Just something to consider...

Definitely seconding this. Seen way too many cases where folks regret skipping uninsured motorist coverage—it's surprisingly common in SC. A few extra bucks now can save a huge headache later...just my two cents.
