A lot of these plans sound great until you need them somewhere off the beaten path.

Yeah, that’s the kicker. I’ve had roadside show up and just stare at my car like it was a spaceship because I was stuck in a snowbank on a back road. Ended up digging myself out with a plastic lunchbox (don’t ask). Honestly, I think the “premium” services just put you on hold with nicer music. Carrying a shovel and some snacks is probably more reliable than any hotline.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve had roadside say they “couldn’t locate” me because my GPS was off by a mile or two—real helpful when you’re freezing in the dark. Honestly, half the time I just end up fixing things myself. A cheap folding shovel and a power bank have saved me way more than any of these so-called premium plans. They’re fine for flat tires in a parking lot, but out in the sticks? Good luck.

- Been there. Had my S-Class stuck in mud once—roadside said “we can’t find you” while I’m literally waving my phone in the air.
- Honestly, these plans are great if you break down at a Starbucks. Out in the wild? Not so much.
- I keep a jump pack, tire inflator, and yeah, a shovel in the trunk.
- For what I pay in premiums, I expect a helicopter, not excuses.
- Still, I keep the plan... just in case I’m feeling lazy.

Can’t argue with the peace of mind, but honestly, I rely more on my own gear than the roadside plan. Had a flat in the middle of nowhere once—no cell signal, nobody coming. My little air compressor and a can of fix-a-flat saved the day. The plan’s nice for city stuff, but I wouldn’t count on it off the beaten path.

I get where you’re coming from. I just added roadside to my policy for the first time, but honestly, I’m not banking on it if I’m way out in the sticks. Here’s how I see it:

- Cheap add-on, so worth it for city driving or if I’m close to home.
- Still keeping a tire plug kit, jumper cables, and a flashlight in the trunk—just in case.
- Not sure I trust waiting hours for a tow if I’m off-grid.

Guess it’s more about backup than a main plan. For the price, I’ll take the extra peace of mind, but yeah, not ditching my own tools anytime soon.
