Honestly, I feel you on this. I drive a pretty pricey car for Uber Black, and the insurance gray zones make me paranoid. I’ve got a folder full of screenshots and dashcam footage, but even then, it feels like they could still find a loophole. Sometimes I wonder if they just hope we’ll get tired and give up. It’s exhausting, but yeah, better to be a little over the top with documentation than end up footing a massive repair bill.

Man, I get where you’re coming from. The insurance stuff is a nightmare—feels like they wrote it to confuse us on purpose. I had a buddy who thought he was covered, then got stuck with a $3k bill after some guy sideswiped him. Ever thought about getting a separate rideshare policy, or do you just roll the dice and hope your regular insurance doesn’t bail on you?

Yeah, I’ve been down that rabbit hole too. My regular insurance agent basically shrugged when I asked about rideshare coverage—like, “maybe you’re covered, maybe not.” Super helpful, right? I ended up adding a rideshare endorsement for like $20 a month. Not thrilled about the extra cost, but after hearing stories like your buddy’s, I’d rather pay a little more than get blindsided by a huge bill. The fine print is wild though... feels like you need a law degree just to drive for Uber or Lyft these days.

Totally get what you mean. I’ve read through some of those policies and honestly, half the time I’m not even sure what’s covered until something actually happens. The $20 a month stings, but it’s probably better than risking it. Has anyone actually had to file a claim with one of these rideshare endorsements? I keep hearing mixed stories about how smooth (or not) the process is.

Honestly, I’ve wondered the same thing. My buddy tried to file a claim after a fender bender while logged into the app, and it took weeks just to get a straight answer. Still, $20 a month feels like cheap peace of mind compared to paying out of pocket if something goes sideways. The paperwork is a headache, but I guess it’s better than nothing...
