I get where you’re coming from about the glove box chaos, but I’d actually argue that digital proof is usually enough these days. Yeah, there’s always a chance your phone dies or you lose signal, but most officers I’ve encountered are fine with pulling up insurance or registration on your phone. Maybe it’s just a regional thing, but I haven’t had anyone insist on paper copies in years.

Sometimes the digital proof isn’t enough if your phone dies or you’re in a dead zone.

That’s fair, but I feel like keeping everything in folders just adds another layer of stuff to misplace. I use Google Drive for all my docs, and as long as I download them for offline access, it’s been pretty reliable. I do keep the bare minimum paper copies (like registration) in the glove box, but all the rideshare insurance stuff stays digital. Less clutter, less confusion.

Honestly, the bigger headache for me is remembering which policy applies when. The way Uber/Lyft split up coverage periods is confusing, and I wish they’d just issue one card that spells it out. But at least with digital docs, updating info is way easier than swapping out old papers every time something changes.
