I just learned something kinda interesting when I switched my car insurance to cover rideshare driving. Apparently, regular personal auto policies usually won't cover you if you're logged into your rideshare appβ€”even if you haven't picked up a passenger yet. Like, seriously? I had no idea there was this weird coverage gap. Glad I found out before anything happened, but it got me wondering how many drivers actually know about this little detail...

Yeah, it's pretty wild how many drivers don't realize this. I stumbled onto the same info last summer when I was planning a cross-country trip and considered doing rideshare along the way to offset costs. Turns out, that coverage gap is no jokeβ€”you're basically in limbo until you pick someone up. Makes me wonder why rideshare companies don't make this clearer upfront... guess it's on us to read the fine print, huh?
