I’ve been eyeing those Anker chargers but kept hesitating because of the price. Good to know they actually survive Midwest winters—my last cheap one basically froze to death after a week. About the lockbox, though… does it rattle around or make noise when you drive? I’m paranoid about stuff like that. Also, does insurance care if you bolt stuff under your seat? I’m new to all this and don’t want to mess up my coverage over something dumb.

Lockbox rattling depends a lot on the install—if you bolt it down tight, it shouldn’t make noise unless you’re off-roading. As for insurance, most companies don’t care about stuff like that unless you’re drilling through something critical or hiding illegal things. Just don’t mess with airbags or wiring and you’ll be fine.

I’d be careful with that assumption. Some insurers can get picky if you modify anything structural, even if it seems minor. Had a client once who drilled into the floor pan for a safe—claim got delayed over it. Not saying don’t do it, just document everything and check your policy wording. Better safe than sorry, especially if you ever need to file a claim.

That’s a good point. I’ve heard stories where even small holes or added brackets caused headaches with claims. Insurance companies can be weirdly strict about “modifications.” I’d double-check the fine print before drilling anything, just in case.

Yeah, insurance companies can get real picky about the tiniest things. I remember my neighbor had to fight for weeks over a claim because he’d installed a phone mount with screws. I mean, really? Sometimes it feels like they’re just looking for reasons to deny stuff.
