Dashcams are definitely worth it, even if insurance shrugs them off sometimes. Had a friend whose footage cleared him completely when someone tried blaming him for running a red... saved him from a huge headache and probably higher premiums. Better safe than sorry, right?

I get your point, but I'm wondering... in no-fault states, does dashcam footage really make that big of a difference? I mean, insurance companies there usually pay out regardless of who's at fault, right? I'm still learning all this stuff, but it seems like dashcams might be less useful in those situations. Or am I missing something important here?

I'm with you on thatβ€”insurance might not always care, but dashcams can still save your sanity. A buddy of mine got rear-ended at a stoplight in a no-fault state, and the other driver tried claiming he reversed into her (seriously?!). Insurance payout wasn't the issue, but the dashcam footage shut down that nonsense real quick. Plus, there's always those random moments you catchβ€”like the time I recorded a turkey chasing a cyclist down Main Street... priceless.

Couldn't agree more. Dashcams are a lifesaver for clarity in these weird situations. Even if insurance doesn't always factor it heavily into their decision-making, it can really help preserve your peace of mind and sanity. I've had mine for about five years now, and while I've yet to catch anything as hilarious as a turkey chase, it did help me once when someone tried claiming I ran a red lightβ€”footage showed clearly it was green. Small investment, big relief...

Dashcams really are worth every penny. I used to think they were just another unnecessary gadget, but after my neighbor got rear-ended and the other driver tried to spin some wild story, I changed my tune fast. Like you said:

Exactly. Even if insurance doesn't always care about footage in no-fault states, having proof to shut down nonsense claims is priceless for your sanity. Now I'm just waiting for something funny enough to go viral...turkey chase sounds promising though, haha.
