Good advice on the notesβ€”I've always been pretty cautious myself, especially since I drive a classic and repairs can get complicated fast. Had a close call last summer when someone rear-ended my '67 Mustang at a stoplight. Thankfully, damage was minimal, but I learned quickly how important those little details can be.

One thing I've been wondering about, though...does anyone know if dashcam footage actually helps much in no-fault states? I've thought about installing one just as an extra precaution, but I'm not sure if insurance companies really take that footage into account when determining fault or settling disputes. Seems like it could be helpful, but maybe it's overkill? Curious if anyone has experience with this.

Dashcams can definitely help, even in no-fault states. A few things I've noticed:

- Footage can clarify disputes when stories don't match up, especially if the other driver tries to twist details.
- Insurance companies might not always ask for it upfront, but if liability or fraud becomes an issue, clear video evidence can tip things in your favor.
- Personally, my dashcam saved me from a bogus claim onceβ€”someone tried to pin a sideswipe on me, but footage clearly showed otherwise.

Considering the potential headaches avoided, I'd say it's worth it.

Dashcams are a no-brainer, honestly. I drive a luxury car, and people seem to think it's an easy payday if they "accidentally" bump into me. Dashcam footage shuts that nonsense down real quick...worth every penny.

Yeah, dashcams definitely have their perks, but honestly, the one time I actually needed mine, it turned out the lens was covered in bird poopβ€”talk about bad luck. 😂 Also, luxury car or not, some people are just careless drivers, not scammers. Dashcams help, sure, but defensive driving and a bit of luck still go a long way...at least in my experience.

Haha, bird poop...that's a first. But it makes me wonderβ€”do you regularly check your dashcam before driving now? Honestly curious because mine's tucked behind the mirror, and I never even think to look at it.
