Yeah, CLUE reports definitely pull in a lot of info, but speeding tickets are usually public record anyway, right? Makes me wonder if insurers dig deeper into stuff that's not officially reported...anyone know how far that goes?

Speeding tickets are usually public record, true, but insurers typically stick to official channels like DMV reports and CLUE databases. They're not really set up to go digging into unofficial stuff—too much hassle for too little payoff. I've had a couple minor tickets over the years, and my agent explained they mostly rely on standardized reports rather than hunting down every little detail. So, I wouldn't stress too much about them digging deeper than what's officially documented...

Haha, true enough. I once got a ticket in some tiny town during a road trip—pretty sure the cop was just bored. Was paranoid my rates would skyrocket, but nope, barely a blip. Guess insurers have better things to do than stalk our every speeding escapade...thankfully.

Yeah, insurers definitely aren't losing sleep over the occasional speeding ticket—especially if it's minor and isolated. Most companies factor in your overall driving history, location, and even your age group when adjusting rates. One little slip-up usually won't trigger a massive hike. Now, if you start collecting tickets like souvenirs...well, that's another story entirely. Glad yours turned out to be a non-event, though.

Gotta say, I mostly agree, but insurers aren't always as chill as you'd think about minor tickets. A few years back, I got one measly speeding ticket—nothing crazy, just 10 mph over—and figured it was no big deal. Fast forward a few months, renewal rolls around and bam...my rates jumped noticeably. Not massive, but enough to make me grumble every time I paid the bill.

Turns out some companies are pickier than others, especially if you're in a higher-risk area or age bracket. Sure, they're not losing sleep over one ticket, but they won't exactly let you forget it either. Moral of the story: don't underestimate the pettiness of insurance algorithms—they've got memories longer than my mother-in-law's when I forget her birthday...
