Would you stick with your insurer for free coffee or movie tickets?

Free Coffee Doesn’t Pay My Bills

- 100% with you on this. I’d rather have an insurance company that just pays out when they’re supposed to, no drama.
- Movie tickets and coffee are nice, but it’s not like they’re covering my deductible or making the process any easier.
- All those “perks” feel like distractions from what actually matters—getting my claim sorted quickly and without headaches.
- I don’t have time to collect points or jump through hoops for a free muffin or whatever. If the paperwork was less of a hassle, that’d be the real treat.
- I actually tried switching insurers last year because one promised all these rewards. Turns out, the process was just as slow and the customer service wasn’t any better. I’d rather just save money up front and skip the “extras.”
- Honestly, I might be cheap, but if you’re paying hundreds a year, isn’t a simple, fast claims process the least they can do? The jazz hold music is just rubbing salt in the wound...

Never really understood the hype around those loyalty perks either. I mean, a free coffee doesn’t exactly soften the blow if your claim drags on for weeks. I’d rather just have lower premiums or less hassle when something actually goes wrong. Has anyone here actually found an insurer that nails both decent prices and a smooth claims process, without all the gimmicks? Or is it always a trade-off?

Yeah, I get where you’re coming from. I’m shopping for my first policy now and honestly, the “freebie” perks just feel like a distraction. I’d rather know I won’t be stuck on hold for hours if something goes wrong. Maybe the perks are nice for some, but I’d trade them for a straightforward claims process any day.

Honestly, I’m with you. Free coffee is cool and all, but if my car’s stuck on the side of the road, I’d rather have someone pick up the phone than a voucher for a latte. I once spent 45 minutes on hold just to ask about a windshield claim… no amount of free popcorn makes up for that. Perks are nice, but peace of mind is better, at least for me.

Free coffee’s nice, but if I’m stranded, I’d rather have someone answer the phone in under an hour. Perks are just fluff if the basics aren’t there. Anyone actually switched insurers just for the freebies? I can’t imagine that’s common.
