Yeah, those photo claims are a game changer—didn’t even have to dig out my old camera. But the renewal hikes? Total pain. Feels like they reel you in and then sneak up the price. Military discount’s probably the only thing that hasn’t vanished on me yet.

Those renewal hikes drive me nuts too. I swear, every year it’s like a guessing game—will it go up, stay the same, or maybe even drop (yeah right). The military discount’s been a lifesaver for me as well, but I’m always half-expecting them to quietly change the terms. Have you ever tried shopping around at renewal time? I’ve switched a couple times just because the “loyalty” price was way higher than what new customers got. Just feels weird having to play that game every year...

Right? It’s like the world’s least fun lottery. Here’s my annual routine: Step 1, get the renewal notice and brace myself. Step 2, check if the “loyalty” price is actually a loyalty penalty (spoiler: it usually is). Step 3, start the great comparison hunt—cue five tabs open, a spreadsheet, and a headache.

I totally get what you mean about the military discount being a lifesaver. But I’ve seen companies quietly tweak those terms too—one year they “updated” their discount structure and suddenly my rate jumped. Had to call and argue just to get it back.

Honestly, I wish sticking with one company meant something, but it’s like they’re daring us to leave. I’ve even had reps tell me straight up that switching every couple years is just how the game works now. Loyalty points? More like loyalty fines...

Anyway, if you ever find a company that actually rewards sticking around, let me know. Until then, guess we’ll keep playing insurance musical chairs.
