Good points about rental coverage—it's one of those things you don't think about until you're stuck without a car. Happened to me once, and now I'm paranoid enough to triple-check my policy every renewal, haha.
Curious though, when you pick your own mechanic instead of the insurer's recommended shop, do you find it complicates the claims process at all? I've always just gone with whoever my insurer suggests because I figured it'd be smoother...but now you've got me wondering if that's really the smartest move. I mean, I don't have a classic Mustang (sadly), just my trusty commuter sedan, but still...maybe I'm missing out on better repairs or service by playing it safe?
