my glove box will stay a mess of old cards and mystery receipts...

That’s honestly the story of my life too. I swear, every time I clean out the glove box, I find insurance cards from three years ago and a half-melted pen. At least you’ve got a backup plan—better safe than sorry, right? The app’s great until it isn’t, so having that paper copy is just smart.

I get what you mean about the backup plan. I’ve only just bought my first policy, and honestly, I’m still paranoid about getting pulled over and not having the right proof. The app is handy, but I keep thinking about what happens if my phone dies or there’s no signal.

I’m trying to stay organized, but my glove box is already turning into a catch-all for random stuff. Is there a better way to keep insurance info handy without just stuffing more papers in there? Maybe a small folder or something? Or am I overthinking this and should just trust the digital copy? I’d rather not risk a fine, but I also don’t want to carry around a stack of old cards forever...

Honestly, I’m right there with you—my glove box is like a black hole for napkins and expired fast food coupons. I use one of those cheap plastic sleeves (the kind you get for school binders) to keep my insurance card and registration together. It’s not fancy, but at least I can find what I need without digging through a pile of receipts. The digital copy is great until your phone decides to update itself at the worst possible moment... so yeah, I’d say a tiny folder or sleeve is worth it. Not overthinking at all—just being prepared.

That “black hole for napkins and expired fast food coupons” line is too real. I used to just toss everything in my glove box and hope for the best, but after I nearly got a ticket because I couldn’t find my insurance card during a traffic stop, I changed my tune. Here’s my quick fix: keep the current insurance card in a clear sleeve right on top, then stash old ones behind it until you can shred them. Digital is handy, but you’re right—phones have a way of dying or glitching out at the worst possible moment. A cheap sleeve isn’t glamorous, but it’s saved me a headache more than once.
