is accident forgiveness really worth it in Ohio?

Accident forgiveness sounds nice in theory, but honestly, I'd rather put that extra money towards better tires or winter driving lessons. Insurance perks are cool and all, but prevention beats dealing with claims any day...just my two cents.

Couldn't agree more. Accident forgiveness might give you peace of mind after the fact, but it doesn't do anything to actually prevent the accident itself. Investing in quality tires or winter driving courses is a proactive approach—especially here in Ohio, where winters can be unpredictable and roads notoriously slick. I've seen plenty of drivers who rely too heavily on insurance perks and end up regretting not taking preventive measures sooner.

Personally, I took a defensive driving course a couple years back, and it completely changed how I approach tricky road conditions. The skills learned there have saved me from several close calls already. While accident forgiveness might cushion the financial blow, nothing beats avoiding the accident altogether.

Still figuring out this whole insurance thing myself, but your point about prevention makes sense. Accident forgiveness sounds reassuring, but honestly, I'd rather not crash at all. Maybe I should look into one of those driving courses...especially with winter coming up.

You're definitely onto something with the driving course idea—it's honestly one of the smartest moves you can make, especially before Ohio winters hit. Accident forgiveness is like having an umbrella handy; nice to have, but ideally, you'd rather not get caught in the rain at all, right? Plus, some insurers even give discounts for completing defensive driving classes. Might as well save a bit while you're at it...and hey, fewer crashes mean fewer headaches dealing with insurance claims. Win-win.

I've been thinking about this too, and honestly, accident forgiveness feels a bit overrated to me. Don't get me wrong—it's nice peace of mind, especially with Ohio winters being as unpredictable as they are. But from a purely practical standpoint, I'd rather focus on prevention than forgiveness, you know?

I took one of those defensive driving courses a couple years back, mostly because my insurer offered a decent discount afterward. At first, I thought it was just going to be a boring Saturday wasted in a classroom... but surprisingly, it turned out pretty useful. Picked up some good tips on handling icy roads and avoiding skids—stuff that's actually saved me a couple of close calls since then. Plus, the discount was enough to cover the cost of the class itself within a year, so financially it was kind of a no-brainer.

Accident forgiveness, on the other hand... well, it's like paying extra for something you hope you'll never need. Sure, if you're accident-prone or have a new driver in the family, it might be worth it. But if you're generally cautious and haven't had issues in the past, it might just be another way insurers squeeze a few extra bucks out of you.

Personally, I'd rather put that money toward good winter tires or regular vehicle maintenance—things that'll actually help me avoid an accident in the first place. But hey, everyone's situation is different. If having that extra layer of security helps you sleep better at night, maybe it's worth it after all.
