I hear you, but I’ve actually had a different experience with my local agent. When my BMW got dinged in a parking lot, my agent walked me through the process step by step—literally called the body shop for me and explained what to expect. Sure, there was paperwork, but having someone local who knew my car and the shops around here made it less stressful. Maybe it depends on the agent? Not all of them are just about marketing, at least in my case.

- I get what you’re saying. Local agents can be a lifesaver, especially when you’ve got a complicated claim or need someone who actually picks up the phone.
- My experience’s been mixed—one local guy was super helpful, but another just wanted to upsell me stuff I didn’t need.
- As someone with a couple tickets (okay, more than a couple), I’ve noticed smaller agencies sometimes work harder to find policies that don’t kill my wallet.
- Big names usually have better online tools, but you’re just another number to them. Local folks remember your car and your mess-ups...which is kinda good and bad.
- I guess for high-risk drivers like me, it’s about who’ll actually fight for you when things go sideways—not just the brand name.

Honestly, I’m in the same boat trying to figure out who to trust. I get nervous about being just another file at the big companies, but I’ve heard stories about local agents being hit or miss too. It’s kind of reassuring to hear that some folks have actually found good help with smaller agencies, especially when things get messy. Makes me feel a little less anxious about shopping around and not just going with the first big name I see.
