You're spot-on about smaller insurers being more understanding, especially if your history isn't perfect. Still, it's a trade-off... personalized service versus smoother claims processing. You've clearly thought this through—hope you find someone reliable who makes things easier next time around.

Have you considered that smaller insurers might not always mean slower claims? I've seen some local companies hustle pretty fast because they're eager to build their reputation. Maybe it's worth checking reviews specifically about claims speed before deciding...?

That's a fair point—smaller insurers can surprise you. I had a client last year who switched from a big-name insurer to a local outfit after a minor accident. He was skeptical at first, but when he had another fender-bender (yeah, rough luck...), the local guys processed his claim in just a couple days. Makes me wonder if maybe smaller insurers have more flexibility to speed things up since they're not bogged down by corporate red tape?

I've noticed something similar. My brother switched to a smaller insurer after his rates jumped post-accident, and he said the claims process was surprisingly painless. Maybe local insurers just have fewer hoops to jump through... or they're just happier to get your business, lol.

That makes sense, actually. A few years back, my coworker had a minor fender-bender and switched to a small local insurer afterward. She said they were way more understanding about the whole thing—less red tape and quicker responses. I still hesitate though... Do smaller companies hold up as well if there's a bigger claim involved, like something serious? That's always been my worry.
