I hear you, but I’ve actually seen the opposite happen—sometimes not having enough documentation can make things way tougher if there’s a dispute. Isn’t it better to have a little too much than not enough? I get that adjusters can nitpick, but if you’re missing proof, it’s hard to argue your case at all. Maybe it’s about finding that sweet spot, like just enough detail to back up your claim without giving them a rabbit hole to go down. Anyone else ever have an adjuster actually thank them for being organized? It’s rare, but I’ve seen it.

That’s pretty much how I see it too. I’ve definitely had adjusters get bogged down in the weeds when I gave them too much info, but being missing something crucial is way worse. It really does seem like a balancing act. Funny enough, I did have one adjuster say “thanks for making my job easier” after I sent over a super organized file—didn’t change the outcome, but at least it felt less adversarial.

Honestly, I’ve found that giving adjusters the bare minimum sometimes works better—less for them to nitpick. Once I sent a whole binder of receipts for my ‘72 Chevelle and it just gave them more ammo to lowball me. Sometimes less is more, even if it feels weird.

I get where you’re coming from, but I’ve always felt like being too vague with adjusters can backfire. If there’s ever a dispute, having solid documentation has saved me more than once. It’s a pain, but I’d rather have too much than not enough, especially with classic cars. Geico grilled me for every detail after a fender bender, but at least I had the paperwork to back it up. Maybe it depends on the adjuster, but I just don’t trust leaving things open to interpretation.

Honestly, you nailed it—details matter. I’ve seen claims get messy fast when folks are vague or “forget” stuff. Doesn’t matter if it’s Geico or Progressive, solid documentation is your best defense. Adjusters aren’t mind readers, and the more you give us, the smoother things go.
