My current policy is about to expire and honestly, I'm not thrilled with the company I've been using. Rates went up randomly (ugh), and customer service has been meh at best. Wondering if anyone here has had a good experience with any particular insurers in Nebraska? Not looking for dirt-cheap necessarily, just fair prices and decent service when you actually need them... you know, like after an accident or something. Thanks!

Totally get where you're coming from—random rate hikes are the worst, especially when customer service doesn't make up for it. I've been driving around Nebraska for years and bounced between a few insurers myself. Right now, I'm with Amica, and honestly, it's been pretty smooth sailing so far. Their rates aren't rock-bottom cheap, but they're consistent, and I haven't seen any surprise spikes yet (knock on wood).

Had a minor fender-bender last winter—icy roads, you know how it goes—and their claims process was surprisingly painless. Got an actual human on the phone quickly, and they handled things efficiently without making me jump through hoops. Another decent option might be Shelter Insurance; my brother-in-law swears by them, says they're responsive and fair.

I think the key is finding a company that doesn't just look good on paper but actually steps up when things hit the fan. Good luck with your search—hope you find something better soon.

Couldn't agree more with this. I've had my share of insurance headaches, especially since I drive a classic Mustang—trust me, not every insurer gets the whole "classic car" thing. I've been with Hagerty for a couple years now, and they're pretty solid if you've got something vintage or collectible. Rates are fair, coverage is tailored for classics, and their customer service folks actually know cars (refreshing, right?).

Had a buddy who went through Shelter Insurance too, and he echoed your brother-in-law's experience—said they were straightforward and easy to deal with after an accident. Might be worth checking out if you're looking for something local and reliable.

Either way, definitely steer clear of those super-cheap online-only deals... tempting as they are, you usually pay for it later in frustration. Good luck out there—hope you find something decent without too much hassle.

Totally agree on Hagerty being solid for classics, but they're not always the best fit if your classic is also your daily driver (ask me how I know...). I've had good luck with State Farm here in Nebraska—they're not flashy, but when I had a fender-bender last winter, they handled it quickly without hassle. Definitely second your point about avoiding those dirt-cheap online insurers though; learned that lesson the hard way a few years back...

Yep, been there myself... those super cheap online deals always seem great until you actually need them. I've had decent luck with Progressive here in Omaha—nothing fancy, but their rates are pretty reasonable if you're bundling home and auto. Plus, their app makes things easy when you're on the go. Might be worth checking out if you're budget-conscious but still want reliability.
