Would a temporary move during roof work affect a home-auto bundle?

If a household has to stay somewhere else while its roof is being replaced, does that short-term vacancy usually affect eligibility for a home-auto bundle discount, or is it mainly a homeowners-policy occupancy issue?

I’m curious how insurers distinguish a briefly unoccupied home from one considered vacant, and whether the homeowner needs to give notice or meet a time limit. If the homeowners policy has to be amended or moved during the work, can the auto policy keep its bundle discount, or is that discount tied to having both policies with the same insurer? It seems worth comparing the policy wording and the insurer’s answer before assuming roof work changes either one.

“Unoccupied” and “vacant” don’t have a universal number of days between them; the policy’s definitions and any renovation or vacancy endorsement matter. That’s separate from whether the auto policy keeps its bundle discount if the homeowners policy changes. Check the wording that applies during the roof work and ask the insurer how a policy change would affect the discount; don’t assume a standard time limit or that the two rules are the same.
