The last thing you want is to be stuck on the side of I-64 trying to figure out if your claim will go through.

Been there, done that—except it was the Bluegrass Parkway and a flat tire in the rain. My agent actually picked up and walked me through the claim while I sat in my car. Honestly, I’d rather have someone who’s patient than a big-name company with a fancy app. Sometimes those local agents really come through when you’re in a pinch.

I hear you, but honestly, I’ve seen both sides of this coin. Local agents can be lifesavers when you’re stranded, but I’ve also watched some folks get the runaround from “mom and pop” shops that just don’t have the resources when things get messy. Big companies might feel impersonal, but their claims process is usually faster—at least in my experience. At the end of the day, it’s less about the logo and more about whether your agent actually gives a damn when you call.

That’s a fair take. I’ve had a local agent go to bat for me after a deer totaled my truck outside Paducah—she handled everything, no nonsense. But I’ve also watched a buddy get ghosted by his “family-run” agency when he needed help the most. Big companies aren’t always warm, but at least you know they’ll pick up the phone. At the end of the day, I’d rather deal with someone who actually follows through, regardless of their business card.

I hear you. After I picked up my last car, I wanted the kind of coverage where if a squirrel blinked at it wrong, someone would be on the phone with me. I’ve had better luck with the bigger names, honestly. Local agents can be awesome, but if they disappear when things go sideways, that’s a dealbreaker. At least with the big guys, you know there’s a 24/7 number and some accountability... even if you’re stuck on hold listening to elevator music for half an hour.

That’s honestly my biggest worry—being stranded somewhere and not being able to get a real person on the line. I had a friend whose local agent just ghosted her after a fender bender, which kinda freaked me out. I’d rather deal with the hold music if it means someone *eventually* picks up. I guess peace of mind is worth a little frustration?
