Had almost the exact same headache a couple years back—DMV swore up and down they never got my SR-22, even though I literally showed them the confirmation on my phone. Classic "government black hole" scenario. Eventually had to call my insurance company and have them resend everything directly while I stood there awkwardly at the counter. Felt like a hostage negotiation...but hey, it worked.

- Honestly, sounds about right. I've seen this happen more times than I'd like to admit—DMV says one thing, insurance says another, and you're stuck in the middle playing messenger.
- To be fair though, sometimes it's not entirely the DMV's fault. Insurance companies (mine included, unfortunately...) occasionally drop the ball on sending SR-22s promptly.
- Best advice: always double-check with your agent directly after filing. Saves you from awkwardly standing at counters negotiating your freedom. Glad you survived the hostage situation though, haha.

Yeah, that's spot-on. Had mine delayed once—agent swore it was sent, DMV said nope. Now I always ask for a confirmation email or screenshot... trust but verify, right?

I get the logic behind asking for screenshots or confirmation emails, but honestly, even that isn't foolproof. Last year, I had a similar issue—my insurance agent sent me a screenshot clearly showing the SR-22 was submitted. Thought I was golden, right? Nope. DMV still insisted they hadn't received it. Turns out, the insurance company had submitted it electronically, but there was some glitch on the DMV's end. Took me two weeks of back-and-forth calls to sort it out.

"trust but verify, right?"

Yeah, verifying is good, but sometimes even verification doesn't save you from bureaucratic hiccups. Now I just build in extra time whenever I have to renew or update anything SR-22 related. It's annoying, but better safe than sorry...especially when dealing with the DMV.

Ugh, I feel your pain. When I first had to deal with SR-22 stuff, I thought it'd be straightforward—just submit the paperwork and done, right? Nope... DMV lost mine too, even though my insurance swore up and down they'd sent it. Ended up driving around paranoid for a week until it got sorted. Now I just assume something will go wrong and plan accordingly. Bureaucracy at its finest, lol.
