Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing with bundling—never really saw much of a difference on my bill. I drive quite a bit for work, so pay-per-mile never made sense for me either. Honestly, the only time I saw a real drop was after switching companies. Loyalty discounts just don’t seem to keep up with how fast rates go up these days. Kansas rates are wild lately... feels like you need to shop around every year just to avoid getting gouged.

Switching companies really does seem to be the only thing that makes a dent lately. I remember sticking with one insurer for over a decade, thinking it’d pay off, but nope—rates just kept creeping up. It’s wild how fast things change. Kansas used to feel pretty reasonable, but now I’m double-checking every renewal notice. Shopping around’s a pain, but yeah... seems like the only way to keep from getting hosed.

Honestly, I’m just starting to look into car insurance for the first time, and it’s already kind of overwhelming. Is it really true that loyalty doesn’t help at all? I always thought sticking with one company would get you better deals over time. Does switching actually make a big difference, or is it just a hassle for a tiny discount? Also, how do you even know if you’re getting a fair rate in Kansas these days?

I used to think the same thing, but after 30+ years with the same insurer, my rates just kept creeping up. When I finally shopped around last year, I was surprised—switching actually saved me a good chunk, even after all those “loyalty discounts.” It’s a bit of a hassle, yeah, but not as bad as I expected. In Kansas, rates can really vary by company and even zip code, so it’s worth comparing every couple years. I’d say don’t assume loyalty pays off... sometimes it just means you’re paying more out of habit.

That’s spot on. I see folks surprised all the time when they finally check other options. Loyalty’s nice, but insurance companies don’t always reward it like you’d hope. Shopping around really does pay off, especially in Kansas.
