Yeah, the lamination thing makes zero sense to me either. My last card got so trashed in my glovebox it was barely readable. And the digital copy? Depends on the cop’s mood, honestly. I just keep a stack of old ones in every car... probably not the best system, but it beats getting a ticket.

I hear you on the glovebox mess—mine’s a graveyard for old cards and receipts. I actually started putting my current insurance card in a little ziplock bag, just to keep it from getting wrecked by spilled juice boxes or whatever else ends up in there. Not perfect, but at least it’s readable. Has anyone tried those apps where you can pull up your insurance instantly? I’m always worried my phone will be dead right when I need it...

I get the phone worry—mine’s always at 10% when I need it most. The apps are handy, but I still keep a paper copy in the car just in case. Little plastic sleeve helps, but honestly, I wish there was a magic fix for glovebox chaos.

Paper copy in the glovebox is clutch, but honestly, I’m paranoid about it getting buried under napkins or old receipts. The insurance card app’s great—until your phone’s dead or there’s no signal. I wish states would just let us link plates to coverage so cops could check instantly... but that’s probably too much to hope for.

Honestly, I get where you’re coming from. I’m always worried I’ll lose that little paper card or it’ll get crumpled up with all the random stuff in my glovebox. The app is cool, but yeah, if your phone’s dead or you’re in the middle of nowhere with no bars, it’s useless. I actually started keeping a backup copy in my wallet, just in case. It’s not perfect, but at least I know where it is.

Linking plates to insurance would be awesome, but I kinda doubt it’ll happen soon. There’s always some privacy thing or tech issue that slows stuff like that down. Until then, I guess it’s just about having backups and hoping you don’t get pulled over at the worst possible time. Iowa doesn’t mess around with insurance tickets, either... I’ve heard stories from classmates who got hit with big fines for just forgetting their card. Not worth the risk, honestly.
