I get why people like the digital proof, but man, I’ve had my phone freeze up or die right when I needed to show insurance. Not a fan of relying on tech for that stuff—especially in winter when batteries just tank. Anyone else ever had a cop roll their eyes while you dig for the paper card? Feels like a lose-lose either way...

Yeah, I’ve definitely been there—standing in the cold, fumbling with a glove and a half-crumpled paper card while the officer just waits. I get why digital is supposed to be easier, but my phone’s battery drops like a rock when it’s freezing out. Plus, half the time the stupid insurance app logs me out. I still keep a paper copy in the glove box just in case, but then it’s always buried under napkins and receipts... Not sure there’s a perfect solution, honestly.

That glove box struggle is real. I once handed an officer an expired Starbucks receipt instead of my insurance card—he just stared at me. Honestly, I wish there was a magic fix for this mess. Digital is great until your phone dies or the app decides to “update” right when you need it most.

That’s exactly my worry. I like the idea of digital cards, but I’ve had my phone freeze up at the worst possible times. Last winter, it just shut off in the cold and wouldn’t come back on for like ten minutes. Not ideal when you’re pulled over on the side of the road.

I still keep a paper copy too, but honestly, half the time it’s crumpled up under a pile of fast food wrappers or some random manual I never read. The glove box is like a black hole. I wish there was a better system—maybe some kind of sticker on the windshield or something? But then again, that’d probably just fade in the sun or peel off.

It’s wild how something as basic as proving you have insurance can still be such a hassle in 2024. You’d think we’d have this figured out by now...

Totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve had my phone die in the cold too, and that’s always when you need proof of insurance the most. I keep a paper copy shoved somewhere in the glove box, but honestly, half the time I can’t even find it without digging through a mess. You’d think there’d be a better way by now, but here we are—still juggling apps and crumpled papers. Maybe one day they’ll figure out something that actually works for everyone.
