Been chatting with a buddy yesterday about insurance stuff (yeah, thrilling convo, I know, lol), and we got into this whole thing about deductibles. He says he always tries to avoid filing smaller claims because his deductible is pretty high, and it just doesn't seem worth the hassle. Me, I'm kinda the opposite—I figure if I'm paying for insurance anyway, might as well use it whenever something happens, even if it's minor.
Got me wondering how other people handle this. Do you guys tend to skip filing claims if the deductible's too high? Or do you file anyway just in case things turn out pricier than expected?
Quick poll:
- I usually skip filing small claims because of my deductible.
- I file every claim regardless of deductible.
- Depends on the situation (damage severity, finances at the time, etc.)
Feel free to drop your reasoning or experiences below...I'm genuinely curious how everyone else deals with this stuff.
