Why is figuring out how much car insurance you ACTUALLY need so confusing?

The fine print is a maze, honestly. Gap coverage can help in some cases, but even then, you gotta read the details...

Man, you’re not kidding about the fine print. I learned the hard way with my ‘98 Mustang project—spent months fixing it up, only to get lowballed after a fender bender. Here’s what I do now: 1) figure out what the car’s actually worth (not just what I paid), 2) check if the policy covers “agreed value” (especially for older or classic rides), and 3) if you’ve got a loan, seriously look at gap insurance but don’t trust that it covers everything. It’s never as simple as they make it sound.

Yeah, the “agreed value” thing is a lifesaver if you’re into older cars. I got burned on my old Jeep—thought full coverage meant just that, but nope. Now I always make them spell out exactly what’s covered in writing. Learned that lesson the hard way...
