I'm trying to figure out if I'm being overly cautious or just smart about my car insurance. Right now, I've got coverage that's a bit above the state minimums, but not by a ton. A friend of mine was saying it's better to bump it way upβlike $100k/$300k for bodily injury and at least $100k for property damage. But honestly, that seems like a lot to me. I mean, I'm not driving a Ferrari or anything (I wish lol), just a regular sedan, and I don't exactly have tons of assets to protect.
On the other hand, accidents happen, you know? And medical bills can get crazy expensive fast. So maybe my friend has a point about going higher just in case something serious happens.
Curious what you guys thinkβis it worth paying extra each month for the higher coverage limits, or is sticking closer to the minimums usually fine for most people?
