Honestly, sometimes old-school methods just work better when you’re frazzled.

Couldn’t agree more. Last time I tried to use my phone for accident photos, it decided to update itself—right in the middle of the chaos. Ended up sketching a “car” that looked more like a potato with wheels. Not my proudest moment, but at least the insurance adjuster got a laugh. Tech’s great until it isn’t... always good to have a pen handy.

That’s actually hilarious—your “potato car” sketch probably did more to lighten the mood than any app could. I get what you mean about tech bailing at the worst times. I’m still figuring out all this insurance stuff and honestly, half the advice I get is “just take pictures.” But yeah, a pen and paper never crash or run out of battery. Maybe old school isn’t so bad after all...

Exactly—there’s something to be said for the basics. I’ve had apps freeze on me right when I needed to snap a pic, and that’s just stress you don’t need after a fender bender. I keep a cheap notepad and a couple pens in the glove box, just in case. Plus, sketches (even if they look like potatoes) can actually help you remember details later. Insurance loves “evidence,” but sometimes the best evidence is just what you can jot down right then and there. Tech is great, but too many people forget it’s not foolproof.

True, but photos still beat sketches for details—especially when things get messy later. Not saying pen and paper are useless, just that digital records can clear up a lot of “he said, she said.” Ever tried reading your own handwriting after a stressful accident? It’s not always pretty...

Yeah, I hear you—after my last fender bender, my “quick notes” looked like chicken scratch. But honestly, sometimes you just don’t have the presence of mind to whip out your phone for photos, especially if you’re rattled or it’s pouring rain. I’ve had adjusters thank me for even the messiest notes, though. Anything’s better than nothing when the other driver vanishes...
