Honestly, I feel you on the “peril” thing—my policy reads like a choose-your-own-adventure novel half the time. I once spent an hour on the phone trying to explain that a bird strike isn’t “malicious intent.” You’re right, though, asking questions is the only way. If they can’t break it down, that’s on them. Don’t let the jargon get to you... I’ve learned that lesson the hard way with my last claim.

That made me laugh—insurance definitions are wild sometimes. I’m new to all this and honestly, I had no clue what half the words meant at first. My trick is to literally write down every weird term and ask them straight up, even if it feels dumb. Sometimes they act annoyed, but hey, it’s their job. I’d rather feel awkward for five minutes than get stuck paying for something I thought was covered.

Honestly, that’s the way to go. I used to just nod along and hope for the best, but after getting burned once (turns out “comprehensive” didn’t mean what I thought), I started grilling them on every detail. They might sigh, but like you said, it’s their job. Insurance lingo is a whole different language—no shame in double-checking.

I get wanting to ask about every term—trust me, I’ve seen folks tripped up by “deductible” more times than I can count. But sometimes, over-explaining just bogs things down. I usually tell people to focus on the stuff that actually affects their wallet or what happens if they wreck their car. Half the jargon is just fluff anyway... Like, do you really care about “subrogation” unless something goes sideways?

Totally get where you’re coming from—half the time I tune out when they start throwing around those fancy terms. Just tell me what I’ll owe if someone rear-ends me or a coconut falls on my hood, you know? The only time I cared about “subrogation” was when my buddy’s claim got stuck for months. Otherwise, it’s just background noise. Give me the bottom line and skip the rest... insurance is confusing enough as it is.
