Honestly, I'd probably skip reporting if there's zero damage and the other driver seems chill. But yeah, if they're acting sketchy or overly fussy, better safe than sorry—insurance drama is the last thing my wallet needs right now...

Yeah, I get where you're coming from—been there myself. A few years back, I tapped someone's bumper in a crowded parking lot. We both hopped out, checked it over, and honestly couldn't see a scratch. Guy seemed chill, said no worries, and we went our separate ways. Thought that was the end of it... until two weeks later when my insurance called me about a claim he'd filed for "hidden damage." 🙄

Turns out he had some previous dents and scratches he tried to pin on me. Luckily, I'd snapped a quick pic at the scene (just in case), and that saved my butt big time. So yeah, skipping the report can be tempting if everything seems fine—but people can surprise you. At least grab a quick photo or exchange info casually just to cover yourself. Better safe than sorry, right?

That's a smart move—definitely something I'll keep in mind. But now I'm wondering, does anyone know if insurance companies typically accept casual photos as solid proof? Or do they usually push for official reports or inspections to back things up? Just bought my first policy recently, so still figuring out how picky insurers can be about evidence...

Casual pics can definitely help—I've seen plenty of claims where a quick phone snap saved someone a huge headache. But insurers often still want their own inspection or an official report, especially if there's a dispute. Still, smart thinking:

Good call snapping that pic—little things like that can really simplify things later. I've always wondered though, if there's no visible damage, does reporting still affect your premiums...? Seems tricky to decide sometimes.
