- Good points on regen braking, I've noticed the sameβ€”it's never as much as you'd hope.
- Curious though, anyone tried portable battery packs as emergency backups? Seems practical, but not sure about reliability or compatibility with luxury EVs...

I actually wondered about portable packs too, until my uncle tried one on his Model S... didn't go well. Apparently, luxury EVs can be picky about voltage or something? Might wanna double-check compatibility before relying on one.

Yeah, that's a good heads-up. Reminds me of when I tried using one of those portable jump starters on my classic Mustangβ€”thought it'd be a quick fix, but nope... voltage mismatch turned it into a paperweight. EVs might be even pickier with their electronics. Definitely worth researching compatibility first; cheaper to check specs than fry expensive components, right?

Good call checking voltage. My buddy learned that the hard way with his Teslaβ€”tried some random charger at a hotel, got errors popping up everywhere. Seems like EV tech is picky as heck about clean power... wouldn't risk it without double-checking first.

Had a similar issue with my Bolt last summerβ€”plugged into a campground outlet thinking it'd be fine. Nope... dash lit up like Christmas, warnings everywhere. Turns out voltage was all over the place. EVs definitely don't play nice with sketchy power sources, learned to always carry my own voltage tester now. Saved me from headaches more than once.
