Yeah, I get what you mean about the reminders. I’ve had a few of those “friendly nudges” myself—one time I was out of town and totally forgot to snap the mileage. They sent like three emails in two days. Never saw my rates go up either, but it does feel like they’re just waiting for you to slip up. I guess it’s their way of keeping tabs, but man, it gets old fast. Still, I’d rather deal with a few emails than a surprise rate hike, honestly.

Yeah, those reminders can get a little relentless. I’ve had the same thing happen—missed a mileage check-in because I was slammed at work, and suddenly my inbox looked like a telemarketer got ahold of it. I get why they do it, but sometimes it feels like they’re just waiting for you to mess up so they can justify a rate bump. Still, like you said, I’d rather deal with a few annoying emails than get blindsided by a higher bill.

Honestly, I’ve started setting calendar alerts for those check-ins just to avoid the hassle. Not ideal, but it beats arguing with customer service later. Delaware insurance is already enough of a headache without extra drama. At least they haven’t actually raised rates over something small like that... yet. Guess it’s just one of those “pick your battles” things with car insurance these days.

Totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve had to juggle those check-ins during busy weeks too, and it’s always a pain. Honestly, I started making a checklist just for insurance stuff—feels silly, but it’s saved me from those “oops” moments. Delaware rates are already high enough... no need to give them extra reasons to bump things up. You’re right, sometimes it’s just about picking the lesser evil.

I hear you on the checklist thing—mine’s a bunch of sticky notes on the fridge, but same idea. I’ve had my share of “wait, did I pay that renewal?” panic moments, especially when juggling work and trying to keep the old Mustang running. Delaware rates are wild compared to when I lived in PA. Last year, my insurer tried to hike my premium after a fender bender that wasn’t even my fault. Took weeks of back-and-forth just to get it sorted.

Curious if anyone’s actually had luck with those smaller local agencies? I’ve always stuck with the big names out of habit, but sometimes wonder if I’m missing out on better deals or more personal service. Or is it just trading one headache for another?

Had a similar situation with my own policy after a minor scrape—took forever to convince them it wasn’t my fault. Honestly, I’ve seen some folks get better attention from local agents, but sometimes their rates aren’t actually lower. Has anyone noticed if the claims process is smoother with the smaller outfits, or is it just more paperwork either way?
