Dash cams definitely have their moments, don't they? Mine saved me big-time once when someone backed into my parked car at a coffee shop and tried to claim I rear-ended them. Crazy, right? But yeah, you're spot-on about the rolling stops...I learned that lesson the hard way. Insurance companies really do zoom in on those tiny details.

Speaking of insurance in Delaware, has anyone found that certain providers offer better rates if you mention having a dash cam installed? I've heard mixed things—some say it helps lower premiums slightly, others say it doesn't make much difference. Curious if it's worth mentioning next renewal or if it's just another marketing gimmick.

Yeah, dash cams can really pay off when things get messy. Glad yours saved you from that headache—it’s crazy how some people try to twist things around. As for the insurance discounts, I asked my provider last year about it here in Delaware, and honestly, they barely seemed interested. Said it’s great for evidence after an accident but didn't offer any real incentive or discount for having one installed.

Still, I think it's worth mentioning at renewal time because you never know...maybe your provider sees it differently. Even if it doesn't lower your premiums directly, the footage might save you from higher rates down the road by proving you're not at fault. And hey, insurance companies change their perks all the time, so it can't hurt to ask again next year.

True, dash cams are handy for evidence, but honestly, insurers usually rely more on police reports and official investigations. Footage helps, sure...but don't expect miracles with your premiums.

Dash cams have saved my bacon a couple times on road trips, especially in unfamiliar areas. But yeah, insurers do lean heavily on official reports. Wonder if anyone's had luck getting their insurer to reconsider fault based solely on dash cam footage?

Honestly, insurers can be pretty stubborn about relying on official reports, but dash cam footage definitely helps tip the scales sometimes. I've seen cases where the official police report was vague or incomplete—like, officer didn't witness the incident directly and just noted down conflicting stories. In those situations, clear dash cam footage can seriously save your butt.

But here's the thing: insurers usually won't flip their decision based solely on your footage unless it's crystal clear and undeniable...think "caught red-handed" levels of obvious. Even then, they'll probably cross-reference it with witness statements or other evidence before changing their minds.

Funny story though—I had a client whose dash cam caught a deer jumping out of nowhere. The insurer initially thought he swerved recklessly, but after seeing the video, they reconsidered. Can't argue with Bambi in HD, right?

Anyone else got similar experiences with insurers giving in after seeing dash cam clips?
