Yeah, I get the caution with rain, but honestly, leaving that huge gap can sometimes backfire. Last time I tried giving extra space, people kept cutting in front of me, forcing me to brake even more. Felt like I was stuck in a loop of braking notifications from my insurance app. 😂 Now I just ease off the gas earlier instead of braking hard—seems to keep the app happier and my nerves calmer...

Totally relate to that braking loop you're talking about... had the same issue when I first started driving. Easing off early definitely helps, but I've also noticed that some insurance apps seem way too sensitive about braking. Like, even gentle stops trigger warnings sometimes. Wonder if anyone's found an insurance app or company that's a bit more forgiving with these driving habits? Might be worth checking out alternatives if it keeps bugging you.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing when I tried State Farm's Drive Safe & Save app. It kept dinging me for braking—even when I thought I was being pretty smooth. Eventually switched to Progressive's Snapshot and found it a bit less picky. Still tracks braking, but didn't flag me nearly as much for normal city driving.

Another thing worth mentioning is that some insurers let you do a short trial period with their telematics apps before you fully commit to a policy. Liberty Mutual's RightTrack does this—I gave it a shot last year and liked how transparent it was about what affected my discount. Might be worth trying out if you're looking around.

Also, don't forget smaller local companies or regional insurers. Sometimes they're more forgiving overall because they aren't strictly relying on telematics data. When I lived in Delaware briefly, I had good luck with Goodville Mutual—they offered competitive rates without pushing hard on the monitoring tech stuff.

Bottom line: shop around, try a few trials if possible, and see what's comfortable for your driving style... no point stressing over every brake tap just to save a couple bucks.

I feel ya on the braking thing—I had Snapshot for a bit, and it flagged me constantly in city traffic. Ended up checking out smaller Delaware insurers like Goodville Mutual too, way less stress about braking habits and still decent rates. Worth a look if you're frustrated...

Snapshot drove me nuts too... felt like I was getting penalized for just trying not to rear-end someone in rush hour traffic. Goodville Mutual sounds decent, but also check out Donegal Insurance—I switched over last year after some digging around. Rates were competitive, and no nitpicking about braking or acceleration. Plus, their claims reviews seemed solid, which matters a lot if you're ever in a jam. Definitely worth comparing quotes before settling though, everyone's situation is different.
