Had a similar close call myself. Lent my car to my cousin once, figured it'd be fine since he's family... nope. Turns out my policy had some weird clause about occasional drivers needing prior approval. Luckily nothing happened, but it was enough to make me paranoid. Now I triple-check everything—insurance companies definitely aren't charities, lol. Better to be overly cautious than stuck footing a surprise bill.

Had something similar happen a while back—my brother borrowed my car for a weekend trip. Thought it was no big deal since he's covered under his own policy, right? Turns out, his coverage didn't fully transfer over to my vehicle. Luckily, nothing went wrong, but it got me wondering: how many of us actually know the fine print on our policies? Now I always ask myself, is saving five minutes worth risking hundreds or thousands in surprise costs... probably not.

Good point... reminds me of when I lent my '68 Mustang to a buddy for his wedding photoshoot. Thought it'd be fine since he had insurance, but turns out classic cars have totally different rules. Learned my lesson—always double-check specifics beforehand.

Yeah, that's definitely true—I never really thought about it until my instructor mentioned something similar last week. Apparently, some policies won't cover a driver under 25, even if they're listed as secondary drivers. Makes me wonder what else is hiding in the fine print... Guess it's better to ask questions upfront than deal with surprises later.

Haha, seriously, insurance fine print is like the world's worst treasure hunt—except instead of gold, you find out you're not covered for random stuff like "acts of squirrels." Anyone ever had a weird exclusion pop up?
