So I was chatting with my neighbor the other day, and he mentioned all these discounts he's been getting just for being a homeowner. Honestly, I had no idea half of these even existed. Like apparently, our insurance company offers discounts if you install certain security systems or even just smoke detectors. I mean, I've always had smoke detectors (duh), but didn't realize that could actually save me money.
Then there's this local hardware store that gives homeowners a discount cardβit's not huge, but hey, I'll take whatever savings I can get. And don't even get me started on energy efficiency rebates...I replaced some old windows last year and got a decent chunk back from the utility company. Kinda felt like winning a tiny lottery, haha.
I'm wondering if anyone else has stumbled into these homeowner perks by accident like me? Or am I just late to the party as usual...
Yeah, stumbled on the insurance discount thing myself after installing a basic alarm system. Also, some utility companies give discounts if you let them cycle your AC during peak hours...worth checking out if you're okay with that.
