I’m with you on the “what if” factor—digital is convenient, but I just don’t trust it 100%, especially when it comes to something as unpredictable as roadside checks. I keep a folder in my glovebox with copies of everything, even old receipts from repairs. It’s probably overkill, but you never know when you’ll need proof of work done or original parts. Has anyone actually had an insurer or DMV ask for those old receipts, or am I just being overly cautious?

I get where you’re coming from—digital’s great until your phone’s dead or there’s no signal. I’ve never had the DMV or my insurer ask for old repair receipts, but I did have a claims adjuster want proof of a specific part once. Having that paper trail saved me a headache. Maybe it’s overkill for some, but for older cars, I’d rather be safe than sorry.

That’s interesting—makes me wonder, how far back do you keep your receipts or records? I’m just starting out and kinda paranoid about missing something if I ever need to file a claim. Is it worth holding onto every little invoice, or just the big stuff?
