I hear you—paperwork is a drag, but I’ve seen what happens when people just “trust” everything will work out. Ever had someone swear up and down they sent in the right docs, only to find out they skipped half the forms? Makes you wonder if trust is even possible without a paper trail... Or am I just too cynical?

I get where you’re coming from—trust is great, but when it comes to paperwork, I’ve learned the hard way not to rely on memory or good intentions. Years ago, I sold a car and thought the buyer had handled all the DMV forms. Months later, I got a notice about unpaid tickets racking up in my name. Ever since, I keep copies of everything. Maybe it’s a bit much, but honestly, it saves a lot of headaches down the line. Trust is important, but a paper trail keeps everyone honest.

I get the need for a paper trail, but sometimes I wonder if we go overboard. I had a buddy who double-checked every form, kept folders for years, and still ended up tangled in a mess when someone forged his signature. In his case, all that paperwork didn’t stop the hassle—just gave him more to sort through. For me, I’d rather risk a little legal headache than lose trust with people I deal with regularly. Maybe it’s naive, but I feel like if you treat folks with respect, most of the time they’ll do right by you... though yeah, there’s always that one exception.

I totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve seen folks keep every scrap of paper and still end up in a jam when something weird happens. Do you ever wonder if there’s a middle ground—like, just keeping the really important stuff? Trust matters, but man, untangling fraud is such a pain.
