I've been trying to figure out the best way to pick my car insurance deductible lately, and honestly, it's a bit of a headache. Here's what I've been doing: first, I looked at my savings account to see how much I could comfortably pay if something happened. Then I compared monthly premiums at different deductible levels—like $250, $500, and $1000—to see how much I'd save each month by going higher. After crunching some numbers, I realized that if I went with the higher deductible, I'd save enough money over a year or two to cover the difference if I ever had an accident. But then again, there's always that nagging worry about having to suddenly cough up a grand if something does happen, you know? Anyway, that's my method—basically just comparing savings vs. risk and seeing what feels comfortable. But I'm curious if anyone else has a smarter or easier way of figuring this out. Maybe I'm missing something obvious?
