Why can’t I use my points AND a coupon at checkout?

Honestly, I’ve never managed to stack points and a coupon in one go either—seems like wishful thinking most of the time. But I kind of get where they’re coming from. If they let us pile on every deal, they’d barely make anything, right? Still, it feels a bit stingy when you’ve spent ages racking up points just to find out you can’t use them with that 20% off oil filter sale. The only workaround I’ve found is waiting for those rare “double rewards” weekends—still not true stacking, but it’s better than nothing.

Yeah, it’s a pain. I’ve run into the same wall—thought I was being clever, stacking up points for months, then grabbed a coupon thinking I’d finally get a killer deal on brake pads. Nope. System shut me down at checkout, like I was trying to rob the place or something. I get that they need to make money, but at some point you just feel like you’re being nickel-and-dimed for being loyal.

Double rewards weekends are about as good as it gets, but even then, it’s not quite the jackpot you hope for. Still, I guess it’s better than nothing. I’ve learned to just use whatever gets me the most off in the moment instead of holding out for the perfect combo that never comes. It’s frustrating, but you’re definitely not alone in this mess.

- Been there, done that—tried to stack points and a coupon on some ceramic pads for my Benz, and the checkout system basically laughed at me.
- It’s wild how they hype up loyalty programs, then pull the rug out when you actually want to use them together.
- I get it, margins and all that, but come on... if I’m dropping money on OEM parts, let me have my little win.
- At this point, I just grab whatever discount works first. Waiting for the stars to align is like waiting for my mechanic to finish “just a quick diagnostic.”

- Yeah, it’s a total pain. I’ve had the same thing happen—thought I was being clever stacking a promo code with my rewards, but nope, system just shuts it down.
- Honestly, I get why they do it, but it feels like they’re dangling the carrot and then yanking it away.
- At this point, I just do the math and pick whatever saves the most. Not worth the headache trying to game their system.
- Small wins count, though... even if it’s just a few bucks off. Every little bit helps when you’re paying Benz prices.

I dunno, sometimes the chase is half the fun. I’ve spent more time trying to stack discounts than actually shopping. Sure, it rarely works, but when it does... feels like winning the lottery.
