Are Loyalty Perks With Insurers Even Worth It Anymore?

But is that enough to justify the creeping costs year after year? I’m not sure.

Honestly, reading all this makes me feel like I’m not missing out by being new to the whole insurance thing. I’ve been shopping around for my first policy and it’s wild how much better the deals are for people just signing up. The “loyalty” perks I’ve seen advertised are mostly stuff I’d never use, like cinema tickets or random discounts. Doesn’t really make me want to stick with one company for years.

I get what you’re saying about claims, though. If I ever actually need to use my insurance, I’d want someone who’s helpful and not just reading off a script. But if the price keeps creeping up every year, I’d probably just switch anyway. It’s weird that being a long-term customer doesn’t seem to count for much unless you really push for it. Maybe the whole loyalty thing is just a way to keep people from looking elsewhere?

Yeah, I’m with you on the “perks” thing. I checked out one company’s loyalty rewards and it was like, free popcorn at the movies… but only on Tuesdays? Not exactly life-changing. I’d rather just save money upfront than chase after random discounts. If they want to keep people around, maybe just stop hiking the price every year.

- Totally get where you’re coming from.
- Those “perks” always sound better than they actually are.
- I’d rather see a lower premium than a free coffee or whatever.
- Honestly, the yearly price hikes make me nervous... feels like you’re being punished for sticking around.
- Not sure if any of these rewards actually offset the cost in the long run.

Yeah, I hear you. The “loyalty” perks are usually just fluff—like, who actually needs another branded mug? I’d rather the company just knock a bit off my renewal price instead of handing out random freebies. Last year, my premium jumped for no reason, and the so-called rewards barely made a dent. Feels like you’re paying more just to get less, honestly.

- I’d trade all the mugs and tote bags for a lower premium any day.
- Last year, my “loyalty bonus” was a calendar with cars I don’t even like… not exactly a game changer.
- Hang in there—sometimes switching providers is the only way to get treated right.
- It’s frustrating, but you’re not alone in feeling this way.
