My trusty old Corolla once cost me $600 for a "simple" fix... luxury or not, cars just love eating money.

Totally agree with you thereβ€”cars just seem to sense when you've saved a little extra cash, don't they? My Civic once drained my wallet for nearly $800 on brakes alone. Luxury or budget, they're all money pits eventually...

Yeah, brakes can really sneak up on you. Couple months back my Focus decided it needed new tires AND alignment at the same timeβ€”goodbye, savings. Cars just have a sixth sense for when you're feeling financially comfortable...

Haha, cars definitely have a radar for your wallet. A few months ago, mine decided the battery and alternator should retire togetherβ€”talk about teamwork. Glad you figured out the minimum insurance rules, but just a heads-up:

- Minimum coverage saves cash upfront, but can bite you later if something happens.
- Liability limits can be pretty low, so consider if they're enough to protect your assets.
- Sometimes spending a bit more monthly can save you from a financial headache down the road.

Just my two cents...well, maybe three cents with inflation.

Had a similar experience a while back with my old Mustang. Thought I'd save some cash by going with the bare minimum coverage, and of course, that's when someone rear-ended me at a stoplight. Thankfully, damage wasn't too bad, but it made me rethink the whole "minimum coverage" thing. I'm still skeptical about paying extra every month for something I might never use...but peace of mind does have its value.

Totally get where you're coming from. Seen plenty of cases where minimal coverage seemed fine until something unexpected happened. It's all about balancing risk vs. costβ€”if your car's older and repairs aren't too pricey, minimum might be okay. But if you're driving something newer or pricier, that extra coverage can save you a headache down the road. Just my two cents from dealing with claims daily...
