Glad the roadside assistance came through for you—must've been a relief at that hour. I'm still figuring out what coverage I actually need. Do you think rental reimbursement is more useful if your car's older or prone to breakdowns? Or is it more about lifestyle, like you mentioned with family schedules? I'm just starting out driving, so all these insurance options feel kinda overwhelming...

When I first started driving, insurance felt like a maze too... honestly still does sometimes. But from experience, rental reimbursement isn't just about older cars or breakdowns. A couple years back, my pretty reliable SUV got rear-ended at a stoplight—totally not my fault—and ended up in the shop for almost two weeks. With kids needing rides to school and soccer practice, having that rental coverage was a lifesaver. So yeah, lifestyle definitely matters. If you're single or have easy access to public transit, maybe it's less crucial. But if your schedule's tight or you rely heavily on your car day-to-day, I'd say it's worth it.

Don't stress too much though—insurance is one of those things you learn as you go along. Took me years (and a few mistakes) to figure out what actually mattered for us. You're already asking the right questions, so you're ahead of the game compared to most new drivers I know.

Yeah, totally relate to this. Took me forever to realize I was paying extra for stuff I didn't even need. Dropped roadside assistance since my credit card already covered it, saved a bit there. But rental reimbursement? Learned the hard way after a minor accident left me carless for days—definitely worth keeping if you're juggling work and errands daily. Live and learn, right?

Same here, insurance can be tricky with luxury cars... learned quickly that cutting corners isn't always smart. Kept comprehensive coverage high after a cracked windshield cost me way more than expected. Better safe than sorry, especially with pricey repairs.

Dropped my roadside assistance too, but kept comprehensive coverage maxed out. Learned the hard way after hitting debris on the freeway—damaged the undercarriage and sensors. Repairs were surprisingly steep, even for something that seemed minor at first glance. Luxury cars have hidden costs lurking everywhere... better to pay a bit more upfront and avoid nasty surprises later.
