Totally agree on the selective amnesia thing—insurance companies definitely have their quirks. A couple quick thoughts from my experience:

- Receipts and photos usually do the trick, but jotting down dates and brief notes can save headaches later, especially if something minor turns into a bigger issue.
- Adjusters aren't always out to get you, but they're definitely thorough. Had one question a tiny dent once...glad I had a timestamped photo handy.

Insurance is a necessary evil, honestly. Still figuring it out myself, even after years of commuting.

Couldn't agree more on keeping notes—saved me big-time once when a minor scrape turned into a blame game. Also, don't underestimate shopping around every renewal. Loyalty rarely pays off...learned that the hard way after years with one company.

Yeah, loyalty discounts are mostly smoke and mirrors in my experience. I used to stick with the same insurer thinking they'd reward me eventually, but nope—rates kept creeping up every renewal. Finally shopped around last year and saved a decent chunk. Still skeptical about those comparison sites though...anyone else feel like they're rigged sometimes? Anyway, keeping notes is solid advice; saved my neck once when someone tried to rewrite history after an accident.

Yeah, I get what you're saying about those comparison sites. I've noticed they sometimes conveniently leave out certain insurers or deals. A few years back, I stuck with the same company thinking loyalty mattered, but after a minor fender-bender, my rates jumped way higher than expected. Switched providers and ended up saving quite a bit. Definitely pays to shop around every couple of years and keep your own records handy just in case...

Yeah, that's solid advice. I've always been cautious with those comparison sites too—especially since I drive a higher-end vehicle. I've found they often don't factor in some of the specialized coverage options luxury cars might need, like OEM parts coverage or agreed-value policies. Learned that the hard way after a windshield replacement fiasco...the insurer insisted on aftermarket glass, and it was a nightmare getting them to budge.

Now I usually do my own homework first—checking directly with insurers, reading fine print carefully, and even calling agents directly to clarify specifics. Takes more time upfront, sure, but saves headaches later on. Curious though, has anyone else here had issues specifically with luxury car coverage through these comparison sites?
