anyone else feel like AAA insurance isn't what it used to be?

I've handled plenty of claims involving both older and newer cars, and honestly, I don't think it's just AAA. Newer vehicles with all their sensors, cameras, and fancy tech naturally cost more to repair—parts alone can be crazy expensive. So yeah, claims might feel more complicated or drawn-out, but that's not necessarily AAA slipping. It's just the reality of insuring modern cars. If you're budget-conscious, sticking with simpler, older models can save you headaches (and cash) in the long run...

Isn't that just the trade-off, though? I mean, I love my luxury ride, but every little ding or sensor issue seems to cost a fortune. Can't really blame AAA—modern tech just isn't cheap to fix...

Yeah, modern tech definitely hikes up repair costs, but honestly, AAA's coverage feels thinner these days. Had a minor fender bender last year—nothing fancy, just bumper sensors acting up afterward—and the claim process was way more hassle than it used to be. Ended up paying out-of-pocket because the deductible and hassle weren't worth it. I get that luxury cars are pricier to fix, but still... insurance should at least make things smoother, right? Anyway, I've started double-checking exactly what's covered in my policy every renewal. Might be worth doing the same—could save you some headaches down the road.

Yeah, totally feel you on that. Had something similar happen a few months back—just scraped my side mirror backing out of the driveway (rookie move, I know...). Thought AAA would cover it easily, but nope. The deductible was almost as much as the repair itself, so I figured why even bother? Plus, dealing with their claims process lately feels like trying to cancel a gym membership—way harder than it needs to be.

Honestly, though, I think it's not just AAA. Seems like most insurance companies are tightening up coverage because cars are basically rolling computers now. One little tap and suddenly your whole dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree. I've started doing what you mentioned—double-checking policy details every renewal. It’s boring as hell, but better safe than sorry, right? Might even shop around next time... who knows, maybe there's a unicorn insurance company out there that's actually easy to deal with.

Yeah, insurance definitely feels trickier these days. Had a similar issue last year—minor fender-bender, nothing serious, but the deductible was steep enough that paying myself made more sense. I wonder if it's partly because repair costs have skyrocketed with all the tech in cars now? Either way, you're not alone in feeling frustrated... seems like we're paying more for coverage that's harder to actually use. Maybe shopping around isn't a bad idea after all.
