"Watching someone else do it while sipping my iced coffee felt pretty luxurious."

Haha, gotta admit, there's something to be said for that moment of luxury when you're not the one getting your hands dirty. I've talked to plenty of folks who feel AAA isn't quite the powerhouse it used to be—longer wait times, mixed experiences with customer service, stuff like that—but honestly, when you're stuck roadside, having someone reliable show up is still a huge relief. Coverage and service quality can vary a lot depending on your area and local providers AAA partners with, so sometimes it's a bit of luck-of-the-draw. Still, from an insurance standpoint, they're pretty consistent on the basics—roadside assistance, towing, lockouts. If they've come through for you when it counts, that's what matters most. Glad your Mustang lived to cruise another day...sounds like a sweet ride!

Haha, sipping iced coffee while someone else handles the mess sounds pretty ideal. I've noticed AAA can be hit-or-miss lately too, but when you're stranded, even a slow rescue beats no rescue at all... Glad your Mustang's back on the road!

Haha, exactly my thoughts. Had AAA bail me out near Yellowstone last summer—took them forever, but the driver was super chill and even recommended a hidden burger joint nearby. Honestly, I think AAA's service quality depends a lot on the local contractors they partner with. Still beats trying to flag down random strangers on the highway... Glad your Mustang's rolling again, nothing worse than missing prime road trip weather.

Yeah, AAA can be hit or miss depending on where you're stuck. Had a flat tire near Asheville once, and the wait was brutal...but like you said,

"still beats trying to flag down random strangers on the highway."
Glad it worked out for you!

I just bought my first insurance policy recently, and honestly, all this talk about AAA has me feeling a bit cautious. When I was researching roadside assistance, I remember reading a ton of mixed reviews—some people saying AAA saved their day, others complaining about crazy wait times. Reminds me of the time my sister got stuck near Jacksonville. She had AAA and waited over two hours in the dark before someone finally showed up. That made me really careful when picking my provider.

In case it helps anyone else, here's what I ended up doing: I called around and asked each company specifically about their average response times and service areas. I also checked online reviews, not just the star ratings but actual stories from people in my area. It took some extra time, but it gave me a better sense of who might actually show up quickly if I ever needed them. AAA seems okay overall, but definitely feels like they're stretched thin in some places these days...
