"Definitely pays to double-check those renewal notices carefully..."
Yeah, learned that lesson the hard way myself. Once had AAA add some random travel insurance optionβdidn't realize until I was halfway through a cross-country drive. Luckily didn't need it, but still makes me wonder: anyone ever actually benefited from these unrequested add-ons?
Had something similar happen with AAA and a classic car policyβrandomly added roadside assistance coverage I never asked for. Made me wonder, though... has anyone actually used these surprise add-ons and found them helpful, or is it always just wasted cash?
Had something similar happen to me last year, and honestly, I was pretty annoyed at first. But then my battery died on a road trip, and that surprise roadside assistance actually came through...so sometimes these add-ons can pay off. Still, I'd prefer choosing them myself.

Yeah, I totally get that. A few months ago, I was debating whether to renew my AAA membership because, honestly, it felt like an unnecessary expense. I'm always trying to keep costs down, especially with gas prices lately. But then, of course, my tire blew out on the way home from classβmiddle of nowhere, late evening, and I had zero clue how to change it myself (embarrassing, I know). AAA showed up pretty quickly, and I was back on the road in no time. So, while I agree it's frustrating to have these add-ons forced on us, sometimes they really do save the day. Still, it'd be nice if we could pick and choose exactly what we pay for...would probably make budgeting a whole lot easier.

Yeah, exactlyβwhy can't we just customize coverage more? I mean, roadside assistance saved me once too, but do I really need all the other stuff bundled in? Seems like we're paying extra for nothing half the time.
